Ruth and Emilia were honored with "2018 Best Children's Album" for The Spaceship That Fell in my Backyard.

The electric sound and amazing vocals of
Emilia Lopez-Yañez and Ruth Weber aka Ruth & Emilia...easily elevate this duo to the top of the charts....they are one of the best children’s bands we have ever heard...  Their sound is similar to the cast of Glee, while the album tells a great story about aliens and their quest for knowledge about earth and its inhabitants. “Repair the World” even won the Grand Prize in this year’s John Lennon Songwriting Competition in the Children’s category.  This soundtrack would be perfect for an animated children’s show.  They are most worthy of consideration for a Grammy nomination.

“Featuring strong engaging vocals and terrific production values this fun-filled musical odyssey will have everyone dancing in the streets... as long as there is no traffic and you've looked both ways four times!”   — John Wood, KIDS FIRST! Adult juror

RUTH & EMILIA: "The Spaceship that Fell in My Backyard" is a kiddie cantata about intergalactic peace, love and under-standing, that sounds like it should be an Andy Webber rock opera? How wild is this? This duo has the chops to back it all up and it's one of the wildest things we've heard in the kid's genre. The noise level alone should keep the rug rats quiet and in shocked awe and that alone makes it worth checking out.

—Midwest Record Entertainment (MWR Blog)

“An upbeat, positive-minded experience for the whole family, The Spaceship That Fell In My Backyard is highly recommended for both personal and public library children's music collections.”

"I wanted to drop in and tell you that my daughter saw you for the first time at the fairy festival, insisted on seeing the second show after the first one, and danced the entire time right in front. We bought the CD and she has listened to nothing else but you guys since that day. She does all the dance moves and hand gestures that you guys did. Thank you so much for what you do! You make my daughter soooooo happy and we will continue to look for you around the county now that we know you're out there."     — Nicole N., San Diego, CA
